Welcome to MayApple

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”
_____ Marcus Tullius Cicero ---- 3 January 106 BC – 7 December 43 BC presents the awesome natural beauty of Western North Carolina.

The Appalachian Mountains with the beautiful waterfalls and spectacular landscapes attract people from all over the world.  These mountains are the oldest on Earth. The awe-inspiring views are captured in his beautiful photographs.

Some waterfalls are missed by most visitors to this area because they are very remote and extremely difficult to reach,  but Robert has hiked these forests and gorges from sunrise to sunset attempting to capture them in perfect light.  Be sure to read the About The Waterfalls menu page.

The magnificent waterfalls and spectacular landscape scenery -- including lovely native flowers and plants along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina -- are sure to inspire.

Share the beauty of this land with friends and family. We have 'slide-show' screen savers and also photo greeting cards  featuring this unique ancient land which is visited by more than 10 million people each year.

Mayapple Plant In Bloom

The Mayapple [Podophyllum peltatum] is native to Western North Carolina and was widely used as a medicinal plant by the native Cherokee people.
